The Estate Show : Anthony McCall

As every year, artgenève presents a large-scale masterpiece to the public. The imposing dimensions of Palexpo allow the genevan salon to think of this show as an imposing display. For this year's edition and during a couple of days, more than 1000sqm will be occupied by a huge installation of artwork by Anthony McCall (1946). The display allows the filmmaker to let each of us feel the "solid light", a notion on which the artist has been working since 1973. The public is able to walk in and around lighting forms in a dark environment. The drawings on the ground suggest different types of gigantic cones. The stroll will transform one's self into a volumetric experience and let us also think again about the plastic reality of cinema at a time when its mediums are changing so fast.
