Anthony McCall, Vertical Works / 2017

For this year’s edition of The Estate Show more than 2000sqm are being occupied by a huge installation by artist Anthony McCall (b. 1946). The display allows the filmmaker to let each of us feel the “solid light”, a notion on which the artist has been working since 1973. The public is able to walk in and around lighting forms in a dark environment. The drawings on the ground suggest different types of gigantic cones. The stroll will transform one’s self into a volumetric experience and let us also think again about the plastic reality of cinema at a time in which mediums are changing so quickly.
